The BCLQ cytogenetics platform supported by Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital (HMR) and Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) provides karyotyping and molecular cytogenetics services to cancer researchers affiliated to HMR, IRIC, University of Montreal and to other Quebec research institutes and universities.
Overview of Services
- Cell culture and classical chromosome studies by G-banding (mouse and human specimens).
- FISH on interphase and metaphase cells with different probes, including BACs (probe preparation, labeling, hybridization, validation and analysis); study of chromosome deletions and amplifications.
- Spectral karyotyping on mouse, rat and human samples (chromosome preparation, hybridization and analysis).
- Study of chromosome instability, including breakage/aberration analysis, telomeric associations, aneuploidy assessment and analysis of complex karyotypes.
